Merry Christmas One and All!

It's beginning to look and smell like Christmas! In my kitchen that is! haha! I baked a fruit cake for my family and 30 jars of oat bran and raisins cookies for my sister and brother-in-law this week and the aroma that filled the kitchen was overwhelmingly wonderful!

It Has Been a Very Long While

Hello Hello!

I know, it has been a super long time since I updated my blog because school has been really hectic (projects, assignments, exams!) but now is finally the holidays so heres what I have been baking lately!

Here we have 2 batch of cookies for 2 different people! The 'Rayden' cookie and Yiting Cookie/ Happy Birthday! The 'Rayden' Cookie was for my good friend, Fang Ying's sister's son's first month. haha Okay, that was confusing, in short, her nephew! Fang Ying's sister, Daphne, saw this blog and ordered from me! :D

So glad that this blog is actually helping! You never really who is out there reading this until you get a some form of feedback! *hint hint* [there is a 'Whatya think?' button and check boxes you can click right after every post]

Daphne ordered 20 cookies from me and luckily she gave me about 1-2weeks notice so that I could do some pre-preparations because the week I had to deliver the cookies, was my exam week. So I was pretty stressed out! I actually baked the cookies after my Business Statistics paper, and delivered it a day before my Organizational Behavior paper O.O

Adding to that stress, during the same week my uni friend, Brandon wanted to order 1 cookie for his friend's, Yiting birthday! He only informed me 1 day before her birthday -.- Usually, the minimum order is 6 cookies because if you think about it, how do you just mix 1 portion of cookie dough and bake just 1 cookie in the oven? It's not very effective... But being the soft-hearted person I am, I couldn't say no, so I baked and decorated 2 cookies for him.

If I fail my exams, you can pay for my school fees next term :) haha Okay, just joking. :P

Here are pictures of baby Rayden, my good friends (Fang Ying and Hui Teng), Daisy and I! Rayden is such a cutieeee! We just kept taking pictures of him! On the top right corner is my trusty helper, Daisy! She helped me tie the ribbon on the bags because by the time I was finished it was 9am and I haven't had any sleep so I was dead beat!

However, after all said and done, the positive reactions I get from my friends when they see the cookies are priceless. It makes all that time and effort I put into every single cookie, all well worth it. :)

BIY Cookie Class

Hellooo again!!
I have the bestest sister in the world :D My sister enrolled me for a 2 day cookie making/decorating classes as my birthday present and even better she attended the classes with me :D I was super duper happy :) It was fun baking and decorating with my Jie! She now knows how tedious and how much effort goes into every cookie! heehee!

THANK YOU JIE JIE!!! THIS WAS THE BESTEST PRESENT AND ESPECIALLY ENJOYED IT WITH YOUUU! :)

New Uni Customers!

Hello World!

I know, it has been a million years since I updated my blog... Not having much business lately :( Oh well... *hint hint*
Anyway here is an update of what I have been up to other than starting my university life!

My newly made friend from uni, Eleanor ordered cookies for her mother and colleagues. So nice of her! I printed customised cards to go with the cookies too! :) Thanks Eleanor! Hope the cookies were liked by you, your mom and your friends! :D

Awhile later, my secondary school good friend Jing Yi's NYP classmate, Hui Shan ordered cookies too! The customised cookies was a birthday gift for her friend and the double chocolate chip cookies were for her boyfriend. Thanks Hui Shan!

Cookie Jar Sizes!

I have been asked many times about how big are my cookie jars so I decided to take a picture since I had a order for the 3 sizes!

These are the 3 cookie jar sizes, large, medium, small. The weight of the cookies in the small jar is around 200g, medium 400g, large 600g :)

It has been awhile...

Hello World!

It has been awhile since I have updated De Cookie Jar blog! I recently designed customised cookies for my mother's friend from Switzerland, Andrea! He wanted to give the cookies to his relatives in Switzerland when he leaves on Friday! I was given quite a short notice so I had to do it at night after my workshop that I am attending for 2 weeks. I reached home on Monday at around 9pm and when I settled down it was around 10pm. The baking wad quite fast but it was the decorating, the piping of the royal icing that took quite some time. Before I knew it, it was 3am!!! When I washed up and packed all the cookies it was already 4am. Omg, I had to wake up at 7am the next day! O.O

Oh well, nothing comes free! You have to work hard on it! :)

These are the customised cookies I did for Andrea! I did 2 colour themes, blue for the boys, red/pink for the girls :) Hope they like the cookies!

Customised Cookies for Andrea & Family

Hello World!

A new post again! So fast right? Which means I have more pictures to share from my latest order! It's for a Swiss family who are my parents friends. My parents were invited for dinner over at their home, so my mother wanted to give them a gift to thank them! They invited me too, but I was 'booked' earlier by my IJ friends for dinner, which I was late. SO SORRY! :(

Back to the cookies, the order was for 6 customised cookies and 1 medium jar of double chocolate chip cookies! 1 customised cookie each for the members of the family! Father-Andrea, mother-Jasmine, son-Julius, daughter-Amandine, twin girls- Joon and Aloysia.

Tadah! Another cookie collage! I like making collages :) My mother was so funny, before I tied the bags with the cookies inside, I laid them out on the table. Then she came...

Mother: You can do a small heart at the bottom of the cookie, nicer!
Me: *confused *huh? I packed them already!
Mother: Oh! I didn't see! (takes a closer look) Wah the bag is so clear!
Me: ...

Then I asked my trusty helper Daisy to help me tie the bags with the ribbon. Then she said all the names on the cookies are her family's/friend's! haha! It was quite funny the way she said it in that blur and innocent tone... I told her Ill give her this picture and she can tell her family/friends that she did cookies for them! haha!

My sporty good friend JINGYI with her Jing cookie! Specially made 1 for her because her it was her birthday recently! Hope the cookie gives her lots of energy to run the whole Macritchie! hahaha!

New Order for My Mother's Friend!

Hello Hello!

My mother ordered from me 6 customised cookies and 1 medium jar of Oat Bran with Raisins cookies this week! I was given only 2 days notice so I had to get to work pronto! She wanted to give cookies to her friend Lilian and her family of 3 with their names (Lilian,Steve,Emmanuel) on 2 cookies for each person along with 1 jar of cookies to keep in her office to snack on! haha!

I decided to do a collage of the cookie pictures because there were simply too many! The colour theme was white, red and blue! Though the red came out a bit pinkish ._.

My mother requested to put all the customised cookies in a box, I still individually packed and sealed the cookies in a clear plastic bag but did away with the ribbon tied to each bag and instead tied 1 big ribbon around the box instead! :)

I personally like the shiny red 'lilian' cookie, 'steve' cookie with the red drop flower border and the 'emmanuel' cookie with the shiny blue background! I had to crack my brain on how to design 6 cookies! Pretty pleased on how it turned out :)

Mother's Day Cookies!

Hello World!

Mother's Day is coming soon! It's still not too late to order some Mother's Day Heart Cookies to show how much you appreciate and heart your mother! haha! :D
Someone who does is my secondary school good friend Gweneal! She ordered Mother's Day heart shaped cookies from me to give her mother and god mother! I think it's very sweet of her! :) The colours requested were blue and purple, so I worked around those colours!

While baking the cookies, I prepared the cookie jar with my new card design! [I didn't use the jar in the end unfortunately, cos I couldn't squeeze the cookies in -.- Quite a stupid mistake on my part, cos I underestimated how much the cookie could spread! ._.] I still posted this picture because I really like this presentation!


Took the time to snap some pictures while the cookies were cooling!

Gweneal was quite impressed how neat my words were considering my own handwritten could be mistaken as a primary school kid's one. Refer to next picture. haha!

Individually packed and sealed to maintain its freshness :) I tied a purple ribbon on top of the bag, the same one I used to tie the cookie jar as a finishing touch! I forgot to take a picture, so you'll have to imagine it there :P

Hey Peeps!

'Man Yue' Customised Cookies!

Hello World! Here are the pictures from my first attempt baking for my first order! It's for my friend's sister's 'man yue' (full moon) celebration that was on 18-4-10!

9cm chocolate chip cookies baking away! Looking good!

After decorating 2 sets of 13 cookies which mind you took me the whole morning (7am-12pm)! I baked extra just in case cos it is my first time, you never know what would happen! :) Also because my handwriting looks like a pri 1 child(my friends will attest to this!), I had to practise piping the words on a tracing paper until I was confident enough to pipe on the cookie for real! Turned out not too bad I must say... :P

Another version of the cookie! I felt extremely happy, satisfied and proud of myself with this accomplishment! Even more so because I learnt the decorating methods from making of the royal icing to the different piping methods all online.

Some of the detail I decided to add at the last minute because I felt it was too plain. Glad I did! :)

The order was for 30 cookies! But she was giving away 20 in the boxes, so I converted 10 cookies to heart-shaped cookies with the letter 'K' on it and put it into a cookie jar! Can you see my calling card tied to the cookie bag? :D

First Post!

HI WORLD!

I have embarked on my new adventure which is baking cookies to sell!!! I am really egg-cited about this new adventure! After I told my family and friends, Pamela my polytechnic friend gave me my first order! It's for her sister, Kayla's first month (man yue)!

I have to thank my lucky stars and Pamela of course! :)

That being said, I am also under a lot of pressure to perform! It IS my debut as a baker for dé cookie jar! I hope I pull it off and have many happy consumers :D
